This post isn't an expose. It contains no meaningful statistics.

When I was younger, I had an old computer that I used to keep a private journal, like Doogie Howser. Unlike Doogie, however, I had a lot more to say than a 1 line witticism. Let's face it. I was angsty. I would write about pretty girls and what I did on the weekend.

For the most part, I think I would have died of shame had any of that diary been made public. I'm not going to be engaging in sensationalism in the near future, as this blog isn't anonymous, but I'm interested in hearing what people have to say about writing about the most intimate aspects of their lives, and posting it anonymously on the internet.

I found that writing about personal matters was theraputic, but what is it that people derive from sharing without an attached identity? Don't get me wrong, I'm 100% for anonymity on the internet! There are many reasons for demanding privacy, some of them are the reasons that I left Facebook.

Do you write a journal? Keep a blog? Is your blog anonymous?
