Almost 7!!!

8 years 4 months ago
Hi Everyone,
I hope this post finds you all well and looking forward to Spring!
My life has been busy as usual.  I am just about finished my first ever season of Timbits Hockey.  I played on the Dorchester Jr. Tyke Blue Timbit team this year and wore the number 9 on my jersey.  This past week, my team and I played in a tournament in Lambeth.  We got to play three games and it was a lot of fun!  My skating skills have really developed and my parents are talking about finding me somewhere to play hockey in the spring and summer.  Besides hockey, I have been participating in the Can Skate program in Dorchester every Thursday night.  This coming Sunday is our end of the season carnival where we will put on a show for family and friends.  Also this winter, I have been playing indoor soccer through Marconi Club. My soccer skills have gotten a lot better and I always enjoy running around and playing with the other kids.  I will be playing soccer for Marconi this coming summer as well.
On a completely different note, I have now lost two teeth!  I lost one on the bottom about two months ago and then lost the tooth beside that one the very next day!  The tooth fairy was busy as she had to visit my house two nights in a row! At the moment, I have one wiggly bottom tooth that I have a feeling is going to come out very soon.
School is going well.  I am enjoying grade one and received a very good report card.  My best friends at school are Colton, Ali, and Chase.  Colton lives in Dorchester so I sometimes get to play with him on weekends as well as at school.
I have been saving the best news for last... I am going to be a big brother!!!  Yes, that's right, my mommy is pregnant.  We are going to have a new baby in July and I am very excited about it!  I am really hoping that it's a little brother and my dad is too.  I guess we will have to wait and see.
One final note, It is only just over two month away from my birthday.  I have already started counting down. I will be 7 years old which means that my scribe has been creating these Blog posts for almost seven years.  At the moment, I am saving money for my own laptop so that perhaps I can begin writing my own posts in the not too distant future.
Well, that it's for now.
Hugs and Kisses...

Santa Claus is Coming to Town!

8 years 7 months ago
Hello Everyone,I hope this post finds you all well and adjusting to the cooler temperatures.  Not sure if you all know but there are only 27 days until one of my favourite people makes his yearly visit to all who have been good over the past year.  I am pretty sure that I am on Santa's "Nice List" this year as I have received a personal video from the big man himself and he said so.  My dad however, has some work to do as he also received a video but was not as lucky as me and ended up on Santa's "Naughty List."  The main items on my Christmas list this year are Star Wars Lego, Skylanders Figues, and a Science Kit. Today I said to my mom, "mom, I know what Christmas is really about... it's about having a nice dinner with your family and giving and sharing. It's not about getting."  My mom was really proud of me for saying this.  We are trying to decide what to get for my dad for Christmas.  I think that he would really enjoy a Skylanders figurine for the video game that we often play together.  What do you think???  School has been going very well for me.  I am three months into grade one and have received an excellent report card as well as several level fours on math, science, and spelling tests.  I have made a new friend at school.  His name is Colton and he lives in Dorchester which is really close to my grandparents' farmhouse which is where I am currently living.  We have had two play dates together and we always have a lot of fun!  Outside of school, I am a busy little guy!  On Monday nights, I play indoor soccer, on Thursday nights, I skate, on Saturday and Sunday mornings, I have hockey, and also on Sundays, I swim.  I just started hockey this year and am playing for the Junior Tykes Timbits Team.  I wear a blue jersey with the number 9 on the back.  Well, I think that is it for now.  My scribe is tired and it is time for bed.  I hope that you enjoy the new photos.Hugs and Kisses...Cohen

A Birthday, Some Soccer, Horsing Around, and Florida

8 years 11 months ago
Hello Everyone,
Boy oh boy, it sure has been a while since my last entry.  My scribe has been slacking and for that, this six year old apologizes.
I have been a busy guy!  Last May 22, I turned six!  I had a party at The Palasad and invited many friends from school, my neighbourhood, and of course, my best bud, Tien-Long Phi.   We bowled, ate, and played in the arcade.  I thoroughly enjoyed myself and hope that my friends did too.  For my birthday this year, my parents bought me a Lego table.  Have I mentioned before that I love to build Lego?  I really do!  My dad and I spend lots of time building really cool things together.
At the end of May, my mom, dad, cats, and I, moved to my grandparents' farm just outside of London.  I really like living there.  I can swim everyday, jump on the trampoline, run around, and help my mom in the barn (when I feel like it).  Whats really neat is that the school bus come right to the end of the laneway.  I still attend French first language school in London - Academie de la Tamise.  This coming school year, I will be in grade ONE!  I am very excited for that!
Besides swimming, I have been going to day camp in Dorchester.  Each day has a theme which is really fun and I have met some new friends with whom to play.  I have had many horse shows this summer as well.  So far, my pony Tulip and I have been champion or reserve champion at every show.  My favourite class is the costume class.  This year I have been a caveman, a jockey, and Spiderman.

On August 10th, my parents took me to Florida to go to Legoland!  It was sooooooooooo much fun!!!  I went on all the rides, played with lots of Lego, visited the water park, and even learned how Lego is made.  It certainly was a trip that I will remember for a long long time.  Thanks mom and dad.
I have been a lucky boy this summer.  Besides Legoland, my mom has taken me to Medieval Times in Toronto and Canada's Wonderland.
I have also spent some time this summer with Joan Grandma and Owl Grandma.  I always love hanging out with any of my three incredible grandmas.
Well, I think that's it for now.  I hope that you enjoy the new photos.

Almost Six!!!

9 years 3 months ago

Hello Everyone,I hope that this Blog update finds you all well and enjoying the mostly sunny spring weather!Things for me are going fantastically! Do you want to know why??? Well, it's because, I am almost six! Can you believe it??? I know my mommy sure can't! Things at my school, Academie de la Tamise, have been going well. We just put on a show, Le Roi Lion, and I played the role of a crocodile. It was a lot of fun practicing with my class and performing on stage. I am enjoying my year of Jardin (Kindergarden) with my teacher Mme. Omeima and my friends, Chase, Ali-Akbar, McKenna, Odia, Angelo, and many more! It's hard to believe that in only twelve weeks time, this school year will be over and I will be heading into grade one! Besides school, I have been spending time with my mom and dad. We usually play a game most nights after dinner. I enjoy Lego games the most! I am also really good at using my mom's laptop. I enjoy websites such as Nick Jr, Teletoon, and Treehouse. My favourite television show is still Scooby Doo. Other things that I like to do are math questions (I am a pro at addition and subtraction from one to twenty) and playing the piano (I am taking lessons now). Pretty soon, soccer will be starting up again and I will be playing for London Marconi Soccer Club in the Mini Stars program. Also, it is almost horse show season. I am a lucky guy and my mom has leased a new pony for me. Her name is Tulip. I know it's a little girly and to be honest, I would have preferred to name her something along the lines of The Hulk or Spiderman, but she is a girl pony so I guess Tulip will have to work. Her show name is Talula - again, girly I know but what is a five year old to do??? Well, that's it for now. Pretty soon (before you know it), I will be writing these posts all by myself. I bet you can't wait!Enjoy the new photos :)Hugs and Kisses...Cohen

2012! Where Does the Time Go???

9 years 6 months ago

Hello Everyone,How are you all??? Well, well, well... my scribe certainly has not done a stellar job of keeping you up to date on the happenings of one five year boy has she? I have been busy! First, I think it best to explain the above photos...My parents and I sometimes eat at a restaurant called Malibu. They have a display cabinet there that is always full of yummy looking cakes. The problem? By the time I eat my meal, there is never room for cake :( Finally, this past summer, my mom and I shared a piece and as you can probably tell by the photo, I thoroughly enjoyed every bite :) Next, my mom is a bit of a weirdo and she sometimes takes photos of me while I am sleeping. Not much I can do about that except hope that one day she won't be such a weirdo! Next, you can see me surrounded by all of the ribbons I won this past summer and fall at all of my horse shows. I came in third place overall in my division - Lead Line, and received a cool trophy! Finally, a silly photos of my dad and I at The London Regional Children's Museum. It is absolutely one of my very favourite places to go! There is just so much fun to be had there! I am loving school at Academie de la Tamise. My teacher this year is Mme. Omeima. She is so kind and I thoroughly enjoy being her little helper. My good friends this year are McKenna, Chase, and Angelo. I love so many things about school including playing in centres, going to the gym, and playing outside. While at home, I love to do addition and subtraction questions. Believe it or not, I am already doing some addition with columns! Besides working hard at math, I have been taking drum lessons for almost a year and last week I started piano lessons! Tomorrow I go back to swimming lessons and am very excited about that! I had a very nice Christmas this year. I was a good boy and was lucky to receive lots of presents from Santa! Some of the highlights were Lego games, a Nintendo 3DS (though I am not allowed to use the 3D part as my parents say it is not good for me at such a young age), and some new books. I enjoyed the holidays as I got to spend some extra time with my mom, dad, and grandparents. Now I am back at school and excited to find out what 2012 will bring!Well, that's about it for now from this little guy. I hope this post finds you all well and I hope that you will keep on reading. I will try to get my scribe to post more often. After all, I am an exciting little man :)Hugs and Kisses...Cohen

Goodbye Summer

9 years 10 months ago

Hello Everyone,

It's me, Cohen Bean with another quick update.
My scribe is at work (shhh) and her room with be infiltrated with large children soon so I will have to make this quick.

Well, I am back to school and am now in Jardin (Kindergarden) which I will have you know, is much more sophisticated than la maternelle (Junior Kindergarden). I am in a split class with "babies" and more mature folk like myself. My new teacher is Mme. Omeima. She taught me music last year so we go back a long way! I am enjoying the year so far and trying to stay on my best behaviour so my name tag stays on green. Green is good, yellow, not so good, and red, well, if you are on red, you are in trouble. I have not been on red this year which makes my mom and dad happy (probably my teacher too).

Today is the day that we say goodbye to summer. Goodbye long swims in the pool with my dad. Goodbye long lasting sunlight. Goodbye shorts and t-shirts.

My last horse show is this coming Sunday at Highland Green Stable. I am currently in second place overall in the Lead Line Division on the Southwest Prelude Circuit. I have shown three ponies this summer, Blue, Violet, and for this Sunday, I will be riding Oliver and Pepper. Oliver is not a fan of being dressed up in costumes so Pepper will be enduring that task on Sunday. He is a lucky pony because though he doesn't know it yet, he will be ridden by the Amazing Spiderman!

Well, I must sign off.
Happy Autumn everyone :) :) :)

Horse Showin!

10 years 2 months ago

Hello Everyone,
Just a quick update as since I am now 5 years old, I am so very busy!
So far this year, I have been to two horse shows with my pony, Blue. I am competing in the Lead Line Division this year which means that although I am in the saddle, I am being led around by my trustee leader, Rylee. At my first show, Blue and I were Reserve Champion. At my second show which occurred on my birthday, Blue and I were CHAMPION!!! I enjoy horse showing even though the first two shows have happened in the rain. I am hoping for dry weather for the next one.
Last Saturday, I had my 5th birthday party at Gym World. I invited many friends from my class as well as my best bud, Tien-Long, and some friends from my neighbourhood. It was a great day!
Well, that's it for now. Short and sweet :)

2011!!!

10 years 6 months ago

Hello/Bonjour Everyone,
Happy 2011! I hope this Blog entry finds you are healthy and happy and looking forward to the new year. I had a great Christmas with my family. Santa Claus brought me LOTS of toys so I must have been a very good little boy in 2010. My invisible elf, Finnegan, was watching me all year and he reported back to Santa. Do you know that everyone has an invisible elf who watches over them? It's true! Just ask my mom!
Let me tell you, this little guy (me) is living life to the fullest! Each day I attend school at Academie de la Tamise (sorry, my mommy's laptop doesn't do accents) where I play with my new best friend, Lucca. My teacher, Mme. Kathleen is fantastique! I am speaking more and more French each day and, most importantly, I am liking school.
Speaking of school, last Thursday night, I was in the school show. It was called, Alice in Wonderland (en francais). I was in the scene with the caterpillar and wore a crazy green wig. My class sang a song called, "Vert." We practiced for three months and all of our hard work certainly paid off as the show was a big success. My mom, dad, and all three grandmas came to see me in the show.
This winter I will be taking swimming lessons and drum lessons. I am really looking forward to doing those activities! I had a lot of practice swimming at Joan grandma's pool this past summer so I am a good swimmer but I am looking forward to seeing what else I can learn and also, who doesn't love swimming in the winter time? I will be sure to post photos of me swimming and drumming really soon.
Well, that is about it for now. My scribe is off to bed.
I hope you enjoy the new photos.
Hugs and Kisses...

Happy Halloween Gone By

10 years 8 months ago

Hello Everyone,
Happy belated Halloween and early Merry Christmas.
Since I now attend school each and every day, I have been a very busy four year old!
Lately, I have been very interested in writing words and numbers. I also enjoy colouring and have become very good at staying inside the lines. I have been doing well at school. In fact, my teacher sent home a note to my parents yesterday that said My closest friend at school is named, McKenna. Though I enjoy playing with all of the kids, she is my favourite school friend.
For Halloween this year, I was lucky enough to have to costumes. One of my favourite people, Silke, helped to make me a Pikachu costume. She made the head and tail and my dad (seamstress extraordinaire), made me the body suit. So, for our class party, I wore that costume. For Halloween night, I dressed up as a Ghostbuster which I have to say is pretty fitting for Halloween don't you think?
I am very excited that Christmas is coming and have even written my first letter to Santa. I have been a very good boy lately so I am hoping that the big guy in the North Pole has been watching.
Well, I hope you enjoy the new photos.
Pretty soon I will be writing these Blog entries all on my own. How time flies!
Hugs and Kisses...

All Good Things Must Come to and End

10 years 10 months ago

Bonjour Tout le Monde,
Ca va bien?
Well, it's the end of summer, the beginning of fall, which also means the beginning of school for yours truly :) Yes, I am entering into la maternelle (JK) this coming school year. My first full day of school is September 17th and my school is called Academie de la Tamise. My teacher's name is Mme Kathleen - I met her last Thursday and she is very nice. I am in a mixed JK/SK class of 20 students. I will be attending school all day everyday so I will learn so much! I am a little nervous but know that it will be a great place to be!
My mom starts at her new school tomorrow - Davenport P.S in a little town called Aylmer. I have been to her classroom a few times to help her get things ready. I am a great little helper!
During the fall, I am looking forward to going to the Western Fair and the Dorchester Fair. I really like going on rides and playing games!
Well, since tomorrow is a big day for my mommy, we are going to sign off early. I hope you enjoy the new photos.
Hugs and kisses...

Summer Days

10 years 11 months ago
Hi Everyone,
My sincerest apologies for my lack of communication via this Blog. Let's just say that my scribe has not been keeping up and since I am only four years old, there is only so much I can do.
So, let's see... what has happened since we last chatted??? Just before the beginning of summer, my dad took my friend Tien-Long and I to African Lion Safari. We had a great time and kept my dad entertained for the entire day! We saw lots of animals as we rode a train around the safari. At the end of June, I graduated from Nursery School in Dorchester. I am now heading to the big leagues, Junior Kindergarden at Academie de la Tamise. I have posted some photos from my graduation. I hope you like them.
This summer, I have been playing soccer every Saturday morning at The Marconi Club. My team is called Fiorentina and we wear purple jerseys. It has been a lot of fun! I have attached some photos from this year's soccer as well. On Tuesday and Thursday evenings, I have been playing tee ball for North London Baseball. My team is called the Athletics and we wear green jerseys. I have learned to hit the ball, run around the bases, throw, and catch using a mitt. If you haven't had a chance, check out the video my dad posted on my Blog from my first tee ball game.
Other than sports, I have mostly been hanging out at the farm with my mom and "Joan grandma." Next weekend, I will be competing in a horse show at a farm called Railside View which is in Dutton, Ontario. I will be competing in the Lead Line class. I like walking around on horses and have even learned to trot a little. I am quite determined and prefer not to have my mom lead the horse around. I can do it on my own!
In September, I am heading of to maternelle (JK) at a French First Language school called, Academie de la Tamise. My parents believe that it will be good for me to learn French at a young age and I certainly have mastered the word "oui" and several others. Sometimes when we visit my school, I just say "oui" to pretty much everything. My mom says this may get me into trouble, but so far it has worked out alright.
One other highlight of this summer was when my mom and I traveled to Toronto on the train to visit our friend Caroline and her son Tyler. While we were in Toronto, we took a ferry to Centre Island and visited an amusement park called Centreville. Unfortunately, my mom forgot to bring her camera so you'll just have to imagine all of the fun I had :)
At some point this summer, my parents have said that we will go camping and sleep overnight in a tent. I can't wait to do that! My parents have said that we can bring my friend Tien-Long.
Finally, my dad and I have been doing a lot of swimming together in "Joan grandma's" pool. I can jump off the diving board with my water wings on, hold my breath under water, and even swim in the shallow end sans (that's French) water wings.
Well, I think that is it for now.
I hope you enjoy the pictures :)
Hugs and Kisses...

P.S Before long, I will be typing these posts myself. I can navigate a computer quite well and even type my own name.

Happy Birthday to Me!

11 years 2 months ago
Hello Everyone,
As of May 22nd 2010, I am four years old! Can you believe it?!?! I am no longer a baby, no longer a toddler, but now, a little boy!
I had my birthday party at my grandparents' farm. My guests were, Joan Grandma, Owl Grandma, Grandpa, J.P, Auntie Kristin, Tien-Long, Emily, Aimee, Keithen, Emmaline, Annika, Bianka, Lexie, Jamie, Katie, and Mikayla. There was a blow up bouncy castle, pony rides, cotton candy, presents, and cake. It was a fun day!
On Tuesday, I am going to Academie de la Tamise for my interview for JK. Since it is a French First Language school, I have to pass a test in order to be enrolled. My mom and I have been speaking French for the past year and I am excited to be going to school in September.
This summer, I will be playing tee-ball and soccer. I love to play outside so I think that it will be great being involved in these sports. Since the weather has gotten warmer, I have been spending some time riding my pony, Blue. I can now trot on my own even though it is really bouncy! My mom says that I will get to go to a few horse shows this summer. I compete in the Lead Line Division which means that I ride my horse with one of the riders from Shadowvale leading Blue.
Well, that is about it for now. My parents took lots of pictures from my party so I will be sure to post more as soon as possible. For now, please enjoy the one of me blowing out my candles and the one of me and my friend, Emily.
Hugs and Kisses...

Bonjour!

11 years 5 months ago

Bonjour,
Comment ca va? Pour moi, ca va bien. J'apprends le francais avec ma mere.
Hello everyone. As you have probably guessed, I am learning French. I will be going to JK next year and my parents have decided that a French school may be the right spot for me. I have to do a little test to get in so each night, I have been learning and practising French with my mom.
Sorry it has been a while since my last post, my scribe has been getting lazy! Soon enough though, I will be able to write these posts on my own. I can now write my first name in capital letters as well as words such as, mom, dad, cat, and car. I have been using my dad's computer quite often. I am quite skilled with a mouse! 2010 has been a great year so far! I have been sledding quite a few times with my dad. I got a new Bakugan sled from Santa and boy does it ever take me down the snowy hills fast! If you don't already know, Bakugan toys are currently my absolute favourite. Bakugan is a game, kind of like Pokeman. There is a television show too that I watch regularly with my dad. My favourite music at the moment is my "Cars" c.d which I received in my stocking and my mom's "Black-Eyed Peas" c.d called, "The End." I love to sing and dance!
I am still attending Nursery School twice a week. I spend the other days with Andrea, Stacey, and my awesome grandmas!
During the month of February, I plan to take swimming lessons and skating lessons. I am looking forward to each of those activities. In the spring, I will once again play soccer. When the summer hits, I will start to ride my horse, Blue again and my mom says that I can even go into another horse show!
I have attached some fairly recent photos.
My scribe says that we have to sign off now as the laptop is going to run out of battery power. I hope all is well with you.
Hugs and Kisses...

P.S More photos to follow. My unorganized but loving scribe can't locate them at the moment.

My First Horse Show!

11 years 11 months ago

Hi Everyone,
Just a quick post to let you all know that I participated in my first ever horse show last Sunday, August 16, 2009, at the Ilderton Fairgrounds.
I rode Meghan's pony, Huckabee. He is a 14.2hh appoloosa pony with lots of show experience.
I rode in a class called "Lead Line." Meghan led me around at the walk and the judge looked me over. There were seven riders in my class and I was probably the smallest. When the class was over, we all waited in line while the judge called in the placings. I ended up getting a yellow fourth place ribbon. I was very excited!!! I called out proudly to everyone, "I won, I won."
I have posted a couple of photos from the show. I hope you like them.

Next week, my mom, dad, and friends, Kristin, Lac-Hong, and Tien-Long are all going to Port Franks to a cottage. I am looking forward to spending time at the beach.

Well, I think that's about it for now.

Hugs and Kisses...

Summer Summer Summertime!

11 years 11 months ago

Hi Everyone,
I hope you are enjoying the wet summer that we've been having. I have been spending a lot of time with my mom, dad, and grandmas. I have been to Storybook Gardens twice, Adventures on Wonderland, The Toronto Zoo, and my dad took me to see the movie, "Up." I have been spending a lot of time at the farm with "Joan Grandma" and my cousin, Steven. I have been riding my pony, Blue, practising for my first horse show which will be on August 16. I am going in a Lead Line class which means that my mom will lead me around on my pony. I have a brand new riding helmet and I am ready to go. When I am practising at the farm, I really prefer to ride on my own without my mom leading Blue. Blue usually heads straight for the grass and starts to eat which I think is rather funny.
For one week in the middle of July, I came down with an illness called the "Cocksacky Virus" also know as, "Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease." It started with a high fever and then I developed sore inside my mouth and throat. I was a trooper though and got through it with the help of chewable Tylenol and Motrin.
I have attached some photos of me at The Little Gym. I go there once a week and work on gymnastic skills. As of the end of June, I finished my first year of soccer. I was just getting into the swing of things when the season ended. I am looking forward to playing again next spring!
Well, I think that's it for now. Just so you all know, I can now manoever a mouse quite well so it won't be long until I am writing to you without the help of my trusty scribe, a.k.a, mommy.
Hugs and Kisses...
